In the past few months, we’ve seen a couple of sub-RM1,500 Android tablets from Oppo and Honor. If you’re looking for an affordable option with high-speed mobile connectivity, Realme Malaysia has launched the Realme Pad X which is currently the cheapest 5G-enabled tablet in Malaysia.
Realme Pad X Malaysia Pricing
The Realme Pad X which comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage is officially priced at RM1,699 in Malaysia. As an introductory offer, the tablet is going for RM1,399 for the first 300 units on its official store on Shopee Malaysia from 23rd to 25th August 2022. The Pad X comes in two colours – Glowing Grey and Glacier Blue.
It will go on sale at Realme Brand stores and authorised dealers from the 26th of August 2022. During the open onground sales, buyers can get the Realme Cobble Speaker 5W, a pouch and free 1-year extended warranty worth RM199, while stocks last.
Realme Pad X Specs
The Realme Pad X comes with a 10.95″ LCD display that pushes a 2000×1200 pixels resolution and has a peak brightness of 450 nits. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor which is the same unit powering the Realme 9 Pro 5G. The tablet comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage which is expandable via microSD card up to 512GB.
In the camera department, it is equipped with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Also included is a quad-speaker setup which supports Dolby Atmos but it doesn’t come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
For note-taking and illustrations, the Realme Pad X also comes with a Realme Pencil which offers 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity and a 240Hz sampling rate. It can be attached to the sides of the tablet and it charges magnetically. According to Realme, you can use it to write for 25 minutes with a quick 1-minute charge, and up to 10.6 hours with a full charge.
For a more productive setup, there’s a Bluetooth-based Realme Smart Keyboard which offers a 1.3mm key travel. It charges externally and it can last up to 112 hours of usage on a full charge. It is sold separately but it isn’t offered in Malaysia just yet.
Powering the tablet is a rather large 8,340mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging via USB-C. Out of the box, it runs on Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12. The tablet also offers Multi-screen collaboration which allows you to seamlessly drag and drop files, and enable screen mirroring with compatible Realme smartphones. Overall, the Realme Pad X is 7.1mm thin and weighs 506g for the 5G version.
If you don’t need mobile connectivity and prefer an Android tablet with flagship performance, the Xiaomi Pad 5 with a Snapdragon 860 processor is priced from RM1,399. For those who need a larger screen, the Honor Pad 8 with a 12″ display is going for RM1,399.
