Interstate travel is currently still not permitted while Malaysia has just started Phase 2 of its COVID-19 immunisation programme. Before we can start flying domestically again for leisure purposes, Malaysia Airlines has launched its MHFlyPass which offers 6 one-way flights with priority treatment. This appears to be MAS’ answer to AirAsia’s Unlimited Pass.

Malaysia Airlines MHFlyPass

According to Malaysia Airlines, the MHFlyPass has no blackout dates and you’ll be given priority check-in, boarding and priority baggage handling. As a full-service airline, the pass also comes with 35kg of check-in luggage and complimentary meals and snacks during the flight. For greater flexibility, Malaysia Airlines also offer unlimited free changes, however, do note that you’ll still need to pay taxes for the flight.

Each pass allows you to fly 6 one-way flights or 3 return flights on Malaysia Airlines. The pass is non-fundable and it will be valid for 12 months upon purchase. You’ll need to be an Enrich member to buy the MHFlyPass and you can earn up to 800 Bonus Enrich Points.

The MHFlyPass is offered in 4 different options which are split by zones. Zone 1 which is going for RM499 covers selected sectors within Peninsular or within Sabah/Sarawak. Zone 2 which is going for RM1,199 covers more sectors including travel between main cities in West and East Malaysia. The highest Zone 3 option costs RM1,399 and it covers even more sectors including travel between secondary cities/towns to/from West and East Malaysia.

For residents in Sarawak, there’s also the MASwings FlyPass at RM499. It covers destinations within Borneo including Lahad Datu, Kuching, Bintulu, Labuan, Mulu, Sibu, Limbang, Sandakan and Tawau.

According to the T&C, MHFlyPass holders must book via the Malaysia Airlines website and you go through the call centre, ticket offices or travel agents. Although there are no blackout dates, the pass is only valid for economy class seats with booking class “S”.

Unfortunately, there’s no mention if you’ll need to book your flight weeks in advance and whether they would forfeit the pass in the event of a no-show. We’ve reached out to Malaysia Airlines and we will update this post when we receive more details.

If you’re interested, you can visit MHMall to purchase the MHFlyPass.
