Phase 2 of the national COVID-19 immunisation programme has begin today and it will cover senior citizens, people with chronic diseases and people with disability. For elderly couples who have received different appointment dates for their vaccine, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Khairy Jamaluddin said they are able to arrange for joint vaccination appointment.

During today’s briefing, he said spouses can call the hotline number (1-800-888-828) to reschedule their appointment provided that both parties are classified under Phase 2. Khairy said they have been requests from couples and people with dependents to allow joint appointments. The move to reschedule to the same date and time is permitted to make it easier for people to get vaccinated.

There are 1,438,974 individuals under the Senior Citizen category, 136,798 individuals registered as people with disability and 2,029,297 individuals with chronic disease. Phase 2 has started today in 8 states namely, Kedah, Pahang, Pulau Pinang, Melaka, Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu and Labuan. Other states will begin a few days later and Selangor will start Phase 2 vaccination on next Monday, 26th April.

Eligible individuals will be notified via MySejahtera and SMS 14 days before the vaccination date. Once accepted, you’ll receive a reminder SMS and voice call 3 days before the appointment.
