COVID-19: New cases jump to 1,482 today, Selangor record 661 new cases

Malaysia has recorded 1,482 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 345,500. This is the highest recorded since 21st March. There are 7 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,272.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,070 new recoveries and a total of 329,624 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 95.40% while the mortality rate is 0.37%.

There are currently 14,604 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 164 are in ICU while 81 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,482 new cases today, 2 are imported 1,480 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most today with 661 new cases, followed by Pulau Pinang with 200 new cases, Sarawak with 176 new cases and Johor with 86 new cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 13 new clusters today and 7 are workplace related. Below is the list of newly identified clusters in Malaysia:

A total of 66 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Persiaran Cybersouth construction site cluster recorded the most with 196 new cases, followed by Jalan Jelawat cluster with 88 new cases and Subang Dua cluster with 46 new cases.
