BigPay has announced that its cardholders are now able to top up by cash at over 2,400 7-Eleven outlets nationwide. According to the prepaid Mastercard provider, the new top-up channel will ensure that everyone has access to digital banking services especially for individuals that don’t have access to online banking, credit or debit cards.

To top up by cash, just visit your nearest 7-Eleven, enter the amount of cash you wish to top up in your app and select “Cash at 7-Eleven” as your top up source. At the moment, it only accepts top-up amount between RM20 to RM250 per transaction. Once you hit “Confirm and Pay”, just show the barcode at the cashier to complete the transaction. The amount will be reflected in the app within 5 minutes.

Unlike other top-up channels, you’ll have to pay a fee if you wish to top up by cash. According to the app, there’s a 2% + RM1.00 fee per transaction and it will be deducted from the final top-up amount. If you reload RM100, the fee costs RM2 while a RM250 reload will cost you RM5.

BigPay claims to have over 1.3 million users in the country and it plans to enter more ASEAN countries in 2021. BigPay is also available in Singapore and they are offering a Visa Prepaid card with PayWave support.

It was recently announced that BigPay will support DuitNow QR by Q2 2021 and users will soon be able to make seamless fund transfers to other local bank accounts with DuitNow integration. The Fintech platform has recently received the green light from Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) to offer loans with instant approval.
