COVID-19: Record high 4,525 recoveries today, new cases drop to 2,464

Malaysia has recorded 2,464 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 264,269. The last time Malaysia recorded less than 2,500 cases was 11th January 2021. There are 7 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 965.

The Ministry of Health has reported 4,525 new recoveries which is a new record high. A total of 213,814 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 80.9% while the mortality rate is at 0.4%.

There are currently 49,490 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 260 are in ICU while 111 require respiratory support.

Out of the 2,464 new cases today, 3 are imported while 2,461 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,103 cases, followed by Johor with 492 cases, Sarawak with 161 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 154 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 11 new clusters and 9 are workplace related. Below is the list of newly identified clusters in Malaysia:

A total of 64 active clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The newly identified Jalan Istimewa Cemerlang cluster recorded the most with 107 cases, followed by the Jalan Usaha Satu cluster with 69 cases and Pasai cluster with 65 cases.
