COVID-19: New cases jump to 1,925 today, over 1,100 reported in Klang Valley

Malaysia has recorded 1,925 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 108,615. There are 2 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 457.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,123 new recoveries and a total of 86,715 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 79.8% while the mortality rate is now 0.4%.

There are currently 21,443 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 117 are in ICU while 55 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,925 new COVID-19 cases reported today, 10 are imported while 1,915 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 747 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 360 cases, Pahang with 288 cases, Sabah with 230 cases and Johor with 110 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 9 new clusters today. This include Seri Lanang cluster in Selangor, Jalan Chu cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Awan Puteh construction site cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Ikon Integra cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Satang cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Timbang Dayang cluster in Sabah, Teguli cluster in Sabah and Rambai cluster which covers Melaka, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.

A total of 50 active clusters have reported new cases today. The Tembok Mempaga cluster in Pahang recorded the most with 282 new cases, followed by Seri Lanang cluster in Selangor with 168 cases and Lebuh construction site cluster in Selangor with 125 new cases.
