COVID-19: 1,032 new cases today, 646 in Sabah and 231 in Selangor

Malaysia has recorded 1,032 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 35,425. There are 8 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 271.

The Ministry of Health has reported 820 new recoveries and a total of 24,815 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 70.1% while the mortality rate is now 0.8%.

There are currently 10,339 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 82 are in ICU while 27 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,032 new cases today, 3 are imported while 1,029 are transmitted locally. Sabah records the most with 646 cases, followed by Selangor with 231 cases, Negeri Sembilan with 44 cases and Kedah with 25 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified two new COVID-19 clusters today.
