Following the arrest of several Singaporeans involved in drug smuggling by drone, the Royal Malaysia Police are hunting down a Singaporean man that’s known as ‘Boy Setan”. The individual is believed to be a prime suspect for the recent cross-border smuggling activity. It is also reported that the suspect is also wanted by Singaporean authorities for drug offences.
According to Johor police chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, the suspect whose name is Mohamad Azli Ahmad Said is believed to be smuggled drugs in the afternoon around the City Square area in Johor Bahru. He is believed to be in Johor and his movement is limited due to the movement control order.
The police said this is the first time they have encountered such a case involving drones and they urge everyone with further information to come forward or to contact them at their hotline at 07-2212999.
According to the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), two Singaporeans were arrested when an unusual unmanned aircraft activity was detected at Kranji Reservoir Park on the 17th of June. When they went to the site, they arrested the men and confiscate a drone that appears to be a DJI Mavic Air 2. It was reported that a bag containing 278g of ‘Ice’ was attached to the drone.
The following day, the Singapore authorities had arrested two more individuals that are linked to the drug smuggling activity. In total, they have seized 389g of ‘Ice’ along with other drugs and SGD 13,230 in cash.
