After extending its account credit validity for 2 years (730 days), AirAsia has announced that they are offering enhanced flexibility for new bookings. For those that made any new bookings from 3rd June to 31st October 2020, you are able to make unlimited flight date changes without incurring a flight change fee.

Unlimited flight date changes for the same route

AirAsia Flight change

Guests can make the changes from the My Bookings tab on their website or via the mobile app. With this flexibility, guests may rebook their flights for travel up to 31st December 2020. However, it is subject to seat availability and fare difference. Do note that route change is not allowed, and you must maintain the same destination. So essentially, you’re only allowed to change the date and time for the booking.

If the new booking has a lower fare, there won’t be a refund but if the fare is higher, the price difference must be paid by the passenger. Pre-booked checked baggage will be carried forward. For customers that have purchased pre-booked meals and seats, you would need to reselect your options for the new booking subject to availability. A flight change is only confirmed once you’ve received an updated itinerary.

The flight date/time change is applicable for flights up to 48 hours before the original time of departure (or up to 4 hours for India i5 domestic flights). The unlimited flight change flexibility is available for the following domestic flights that are booked directly with the low-cost-carrier:

  • AirAsia Malaysia (AK)
  • AirAsia Indonesia (QZ)
  • AirAsia Thailand (FD)
  • AirAsia Philippines (Z2)
  • AirAsia India (i5)

This flexibility option is not applicable for AirAsia Unlimited Pass. You can learn more about the flight change here.

No fare difference for booking made on/before 17th April

For bookings made on or before 17th April, all guests are also allowed to make unlimited flight changes without flight change fee for the same route before 31st October 2020. However, the difference is they won’t be required to pay a fare difference if applicable.
