The Huawei P40 series will be unveiled next week through a live stream event. Ahead of the official unveiling, we now get a clearer look at the colour options available for the P40, P40 Pro and the P40 Pro Premium Edition thanks to prolific leakster, Evan Blass.
For the top of the line P40 Pro “PE” that features a penta-camera setup, the device appears to come in either Black or White, which is somewhat similar to the Samsung Galaxy S10+ variants with higher storage options. Word has it that Huawei will be using more expensive materials such as Ceramic for the Premium Edition’s back.
Meanwhile, the P40 and P40 Pro are shown here with five colour options – Blue (likely “Aurora”), Black, “Breathing Crystal”, Grey and Pink (likely “Pink Gold”). The P40 Pro comes with a quad-camera setup with the standard P40 has a triple-camera array.
At the moment, the P40 Pro has already passed our SIRIM certification and it supports the 700MHz, 3500MHz and 3700MHz 5G bands. The latest flagship trio is expected to run on a Kirin 990 5G processor and the P40 Pro PE is expected to compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy S20 Ultra.
The P40 Pro PE is speculated to offer 10x optical zoom and it could do up to 100x digital zoom. From the earlier renders, the new photography-centric flagship has a focal length range between 18mm to 240mm and the penta-camera setup offers an aperture between f/1.8 to f/4.0.
