This is probably the most affordable way to own an iPhone on contract. U Mobile is offering the iPhone 7 Plus on its UPackage instalment program for less than RM50 per month.

On UPackage, you can get this dual-camera iPhone for RM39/month on Unlimited Hero P139 or RM49/month on Unlimited Hero P99. Both plans are bundled with unlimited voice calls and unlimited data.

The key difference between the two is the amount of hotspot data as well as the number of countries supported under its Roam-Onz feature. In addition, the P99 plan only allows you to stream videos in standard definition while the higher P139 plan lets you stream in HD.

Do note that you’ll need to pay the 3 months worth of instalment and subscription as an upfront payment. This will cost you RM444 on Hero P99 and RM534 on Hero P139.

Most Apple retailers are currently offering the same 128GB device for RM1,999. If you do the math, this iPhone would effectively cost you RM936 across 24 months on the Unlimited Hero P139 plan. For more info, you can check out U Mobile’s iPhone 7 Plus page.

The iPhone 7 Plus was introduced in 2016 and it is still quite a decent smartphone for today’s usage. It features a 5.5″ Retina (Full HD) display and it runs on Apple’s A10 Fusion Chip.

This is also the first iPhone to feature a dual 12MP camera setup and it offers 2X optical zoom for its second lens. The device has stereo speakers and it also has IP67-rated water resistance.

Despite being three years old, it can still run on the latest iOS 13. Do note that this is also the first iPhone to kill the headphone jack, so you’ll either need to use a dongle or go wireless by picking up a pair of AirPods.
