During the Nokia World 2011 event, they have been talking about reaching the next billion people. Connecting people that wants to reach their aspiration. This group of people are mostly youth from emerging markets that has been Nokia’s turf. To stay relevant, they have introduced 4 devices, the Nokia Asha 200, 201, 300 and 303 that runs on their entry level Series 40 operating system.

First up is the Asha 200/201 which looks like a replacement of the Nokia C3. It features a 2.4″ QVGA screen and a QWERTY keyboard for all your messaging needs. The rest of the spec are pretty entry level with 64MB internal storage which is expandable via microSD card, a basic 2MP camera and bluetooth. It runs only on EDGE (no 3G) and there’s no support for WiFi. The Asha 200 offers Easy Swap dual-sim support while the Asha 201 is a standard single SIM device. Both comes with a 1430mAh capacity battery and weighs 105 grams.

Next is the Asha 300 which is a candybar phone with Touch & Type features like the Nokia X3-02. It offers higher spec features like a 1GHz processor with 3G HSPA connectivity. At the front, it uses a 2.4″ resistive QVGA touch screen and there’s a 5MP camera at the back with VGA video recording. Internally it comes with 140MB of storage which is also expandable via microSD. The Asha 300 is powered with a 1100mAh capacity battery and weighs 85 grams.

The last device is the Asha 303 which comes with a 2.6″ capacitive touch screen and full QWERTY keyboard. Like the Asha 300, it is also powered with a faster 1GHz processor and a slightly bigger 170MB internal memory. In terms of connectivity, it offers both 3G and WiFi. At the back however, it uses a lower pixel count 3.2MP camera. Despite its higher spec, it is lighter than the Asha 200 at 97 grams and thinner at 13.9mm.

As mentioned at Nokia World, Angry Birds will be available on touch screen S40 devices. With both Asha 300 and 303 being touch screens, they will come with Angry Birds lite pre-installed.
