Huawei might introduce the world’s fastest wireless charger with the Mate 30 series

The Huawei’s 40W SuperCharge power brick is one of the fastest wired charging technologies that’s available today. For the upcoming Mate 30 flagship series, it appears that the Chinese smartphone maker is stepping things up in the area of wireless charging.

As revealed through an application listing to the FCC, Huawei has a new CP61 wireless charger that pushes a maximum output of 30W. That’s 50% more powerful than the 20W fast wireless charger by Xiaomi and 100% more than Huawei’s current 15W wireless charger. At 30W, this is the same max output as OnePlus 7 Pro’s wired 30W warp charger.

It is worth pointing out that the Huawei Mate 30 series was rumoured to support 25W wireless charging. Even if Huawei settles for a lower 25W certification, this is still the most powerful wireless charging technology and it should be faster than most fast wired chargers available today. Based on the label at the bottom of the charging pad, you’ll need to plug in Huawei’s 40W SuperCharge power brick to enable fast wireless charging.

The Mate 30 series is expected to launch towards the end of this year and we hope that Huawei will make wireless charging as a standard feature on both the standard and Pro models.
