We’ve all seen some awkward gimmicks make their appearances in smartphones before. I mean, take Samsung’s eye scrolling thing that debuted on the Samsung Galaxy S3 — that was peak gimmick if you ask me. But, no matter how awkward these features tend to get, and how utterly useless most of them turn out to be, manufacturers still forge ahead with these features.
And the latest one comes from LG. On their flagship G8 ThinQ, the electronics giant includes something they call “Air Motion” which essentially lets you control your smartphone with hand gestures. Oh, and it can read your palm too? My first thought was: No way this doesn’t feel awkward.
But, after giving it a try, I have to say, it doesn’t feel as awkward as I thought it would.
