The latest GoPro HERO will be available in Malaysia starting tomorrow (3rd April). This is GoPro’s new budget action camera and it’s sold exclusively online via Lazada Malaysia. To add more value to your purchase, they are bundling a free GoPro Experience and Training worth RM399 while seats are available.
Officially priced at RM949, the new GoPro HERO is their new entry-level model which sits below your typical GoPro HERO5 and HERO6. The exterior looks quite similar and it’s also waterproof up to 10 metres deep without requiring a case.
In terms of hardware, it can shoot videos up to 1440p resolution at 60fps as well as 10MP photos. There’s also burst mode of 10fps and it can do time-lapse with 0.5-second intervals. Instead of GoPro’s newer GP1 chip that’s found on the GoPro Hero6 Black, this GoPro HERO utilises their older Ambarella chip.
Over at the back, there’s a 2-inch touchscreen display and the GoPro HERO also has voice control and electronic image stabilisation. It connects to your smartphone via WiFi and Bluetooth. If you’re interested, you can purchase the GoPro HERO on Lazada Malaysia (Available starting from 3 April). According to the listing, they are also bundling a 32GB SanDisk microSD card for free. After you’ve completed your purchase, you can sign up for the training here.
If you have to shoot videos in 4K resolution, you could get the GoPro HERO5 session at RM949, which is the same price as this new budget GoPro HERO.
