Xiaomi’s Redmi 5 series is getting expanded by the end of this week. After introducing its single 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant for the Malaysian market, Xiaomi will be releasing two more models to cover different price points.

For those looking for an even cheaper Full View/Full Display smartphone, the Redmi 5 will come with a lower 2GB RAM + 16GB storage model. The pricing isn’t revealed yet but it’s currently going for 799CNY (about RM491) in China.

If you need a phone with better specs, there’s also the Redmi 5 Plus with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It’s similar to the recently announced Redmi Note 5 in India and it’s priced at 1,299CNY (about RM798) in China.

As a comparison, the Redmi 5 with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage is officially priced in Malaysia at RM679, while the equivalent Redmi 5 Plus with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage is going for RM749. Based on the teaser below, both models are expected to go on sale in three days, which is this Friday. You can learn more about the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in our announcement post.
