Fresh from launching two new EV charging stations, Sarawak’s homegrown Charge Point Operator (CPO), FastEV, has added one more new location under its wing. Located at Menara Zecon in Kuching, the new EV charging spot is one of the largest and fastest EV charging facilities in Sarawak at the moment.

Operated by SDEC Karuna JV Sdn Bhd (SKJV)—a joint venture subsidiary under the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC)—the CPO first entered the scene back in 2025. To activate and pay for charging sessions, users can download the FastEV mobile app, available on both Android and iOS.

FastEV Menara Zecon Kuching: 200kW for 4 charging bays

The new FastEV DC charging station at Menara Zecon features a 200kW Kempower Power Unit that is connected to Kempower Satellites on 4 charging bays. As the Kempower system supports dynamic power distribution, this means that each charging bay can deliver a DC charging speed of at least 50kW if the site is fully occupied.

Open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it costs RM1.40 per minute to charge your EV at FastEV Menara Zecon. However, you can currently enjoy the promotional rate of RM1.20 per minute, which will last until 30 November 2026.

Other FastEV locations

FastEV RTC Sampat (L) and Urban Residences (R).

Aside from Menara Zecon, there are other FastEV DC chargers within Kuching at locations such as  Urban Residences and Plaza Merdeka. The CPO has recently activated the 40kW charger at RTC Sampat in Sebangan.

FastEV also operates AC chargers at The Waterfront Hotel, Riverside Shopping Complex, Wisma Mahmud, Sarawak Plaza, and Green Height’s Condominium. The company is also gearing up to launch a 40kW DC charger and two 22kW AC chargers at Meditel Kuching.
