Regardless of whether you love or hate the car, it appears that the Ferrari Luce is quite a hit among Maranello’s faithful. So much so that the Luce’s allocation for 2027 is already sold out, according to Ferrari’s Group CEO, Benedetto Vigna, during its recent Q3 earnings call.
This is despite the fact that official media and customer test-drive sessions will only take place in 2027. That being said, the first batch of deliveries will still happen within Q4 this year.
“For the Luce, I think that there are four important things that I would like to underline. The number one is that the Luce is in production as planned.
The second is that by end of this year, we will have a few units on the road. The third is that in Q1, we will have international media test drive first and then test drive for the client.
Then all the Luce that we plan to sell next year basically are all allocated. If someone comes, he has to wait one year to get the cars.” – Benedetto Vigna, Group CEO, Ferrari.
The Luce (which translates to “light” in Italian) is the Maranello marque’s first all-electric offering and gathered plenty of polarised opinions when it was unveiled back in May. The EV was designed in collaboration with LoveFrom, the creative collective founded by Apple’s former Chief Design Officer, Sir Jony Ive, and renowned industrial designer Marc Newson.
When it comes to pricing, the Luce reportedly starts at USD 560,800 (~RM2.28 million). However, the first production unit, nicknamed Chassis 0, was auctioned off for a staggering USD 40 million (~RM162.56 million) in a charity auction by RM Sotheby’s for The Ferrari Foundation.
Under the skin, the Ferrari Luce rides on a dedicated 800V platform powered by four independent radial-flux electric motors—one per wheel—generating a staggering combined output of 772kW (1,035hp) and 990 Nm of engine torque in Launch Control mode.
That powertrain vaults the 2,260kg grand tourer from 0 to 100km/h in 2.5 seconds, reaches 200km/h in 6.8 seconds, and tops out at 310km/h.
Juicing the setup is an in-house Maranello-developed 122 kWh NMC battery with a graphite anode integrated directly into the floorpan as a structural element. The pack yields over 530 km of estimated WLTP range, with the EV supporting DC fast charging up to 350 kW.
To manage that pace, the chassis relies on active suspension derived from the F80, independent rear-wheel steering, and carbon-ceramic brakes (390 mm front, 372 mm rear). In addition, the Luce rides on the largest staggered wheel setup ever fitted to a production Ferrari road car, sporting 23-inch front and 24-inch rear wheels.
In terms of dimensions, the Luce measures 5,026 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, 1,544 mm tall, with a 2,961 mm wheelbase. It also features a substantial boot capacity of 597 litres, though there is no front frunk, as Ferrari dedicated that real estate entirely to airflow and aerodynamics.
Step inside and you are greeted by Maranello’s first true five-seater, wrapped in a pure glass-house silhouette. The cabin ditches endless plastic menus for a tactile, driver-first environment blending recycled anodised aluminium, premium Italian leather, and Corning Gorilla Glass with four bespoke Samsung OLED screens.
Drivers interact through a floating multi-layered binnacle that moves with the steering wheel, paired with tactile analogue dials, an articulating centre control panel, and an industry-first Gorilla Glass key equipped with a bistable e-ink display that brings the entire cabin to life upon docking.
Rounding out the package, audiophiles are treated to a 21-speaker, 3,000 W audio system featuring custom acoustic signatures, all cushioned by an elastically mounted rear subframe that Ferrari said was engineered to make the Luce the quietest, most refined road car that it has ever built.
