Proton’s electrified sub-brand, Proton e.MAS, has officially crossed the 35,000-unit milestone as the national automaker navigates the final quarter of 2026. According to sales figures released by the national automaker, the e.MAS family secured 3,763 deliveries in October, bringing its cumulative year-to-date (YTD) sales to 35,730 units and capturing an estimated 33.2% share of Malaysia’s electrified vehicle (xEV) segment.

Proton e.MAS 5 Continues Strong Volume Run

The sales trajectory is overwhelmingly driven by the Proton e.MAS 5, which continues to lead as Malaysia’s volume champion across the entire xEV category.

In October, the compact electric hatchback registered 2,437 units, pushing its cumulative 2026 tally to 23,189 units. The model accounts for the largest proportion of deliveries within the e.MAS range, representing roughly 64.9% of the brand’s cumulative sales this year.

Further up the range, the mid-size SUV lineup has sustained steady momentum across both pure electric and plug-in hybrid options.

The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV added 710 units in October to bring its YTD total to 6,962 units, while the fully electric e.MAS 7 recorded 616 deliveries, lifting its cumulative volume to 5,579 units. Combined, the e.MAS 7 siblings have put 12,541 units on Malaysian roads through the first ten months of the year.

Proton Sales Ranking: e.MAS vs ICE

For perspective on where electrified models sit against traditional internal combustion offerings, here is how the internal sales rankings stack up across both categories:

October 2026 Sales Figures

  1. Proton Saga: 7,352 units
  2. Proton S70: 3,029 units
  3. Proton e.MAS 5: 2,437 units
  4. Proton S70 i-GT 1.5: 2,338 units
  5. Proton X50: 1,925 units
  6. Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV: 710 units
  7. Proton e.MAS 7: 616 units
  8. Proton X90: 478 units

YTD 2026 Sales Figures (Jan – Oct)

  1. Proton Saga: 75,589 units
  2. Proton S70: 23,448 units (excludes S70 i-GT 1.5)
  3. Proton e.MAS 5: 23,189 units
  4. Proton X50: 22,088 units
  5. Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV: 6,962 units
  6. Proton e.MAS 7: 5,579 units
  7. Proton X90: 3,728 units

One in Five New Protons Is Now Electrified

The rapid ramp-up of the e.MAS brand has altered the composition of Proton’s broader showroom footprint.

With total group sales standing at 182,510 units through October, electrified models now account for 19.58% of all Proton vehicles delivered in 2026. That ratio means nearly one in every five new Protons hitting local roads is an e.MAS, marking a notable shift as the automaker closes in on its first 200,000-unit annual sales volume since 2002.

On a related note, Pro-Net is giving the public a say in its design future through the Proton e.MAS Impianku contest. Running until 30 November 2026, the AI-powered initiative invites Malaysians to submit their ideal e.MAS vehicle concepts, with top entries standing to win personalised 3D-printed scale models of their designs, while there are also cash prizes for university students.
