CelcomDigi expands artificial intelligence and technology learning for young Malaysians through a partnership with RTM’s Junior Innovathon 2026.

As the official telecommunication partner of the nationwide STEM challenge, CelcomDigi gives primary and secondary school students practical exposure to AI and emerging tools as they develop their own innovation ideas.

Seeing how AI works in real life

The program brings together 200 primary and secondary school participants from across the country for a tailored AI workshop that builds basic knowledge.

Following the workshop, students take an immersive tour of the CelcomDigi AI Experience Centre (AiX) to see real-world AI solutions firsthand.

Kugan Thirunavakarasu, CelcomDigi’s Acting Chief Innovation Officer, said, “Young Malaysians are growing up as digital natives. Our roles is to create more opportunities for them to explore technology beyond everyday use, understand its possibilities and develop the confidence to create with it. The earlier we can spark that interest, the more opportunities we create to nurture the future-ready AI talent Malaysia will need.”

Encouraging Real Solutions with the Tech for Impact Award

To help students put this thinking into practice, CelcomDigi is introducing the Tech for Impact Award within Junior Innovathon 2026.

This award encourages students to consider how technology can strengthen their ideas, solve a problem, or create meaningful impact.

One primary school and one secondary school will each win two full years of free CelcomDigi 5G Home WiFi to support ongoing digital learning and exploration. CelcomDigi also takes part in the final judging panel on 1 November 2026.

Building Malaysia’s future talent pipeline

This initiative connects directly with CelcomDigi’s broader CD-NXT commitment to build the next generation of digital talent.

By connecting student projects with real-world technology applications, the collaborations works to build a future-ready AI talent pipeline for Malaysia.
