YTL AI Labs has launched ILMUcode, a new agentic AI coding platform aimed at Malaysian developers, students and aspiring software builders.
Launched at Universiti Malaya, ILMUcode combines an AI coding assistant with ILMU-GLM-5.3, the latest model to join the ILMU family. The model was developed in partnership with Chinese AI company Z.ai.
Besides generating and modifying code, ILMUcode is designed to work across software projects, troubleshoot problems and carry out development tasks with less manual intervention.
ILMUcode uses AI to build, debug and automate coding tasks

A
t the heart of ILMUcode is ILMU-GLM-5.3, which brings Z.ai’s GLM-5.3 coding capabilities to YTL AI Labs’ platform.
According to YTL AI Labs, ILMUcode can understand complex codebases, write and modify code, troubleshoot problems and help turn ideas into working software.
It claims that ILMUcode ranks among leading coding models on benchmarks including Terminal-Bench 2.1 and DeepSWE.
Unlike a conventional coding assistant which mainly responds to individual prompts, ILMUcode supports agentic workflows. Users can give it a goal and have the AI plan, execute and iterate across a project.
For example, it can be used to build features, migrate APIs, add authentication, identify bugs, review code and generate documentation.
Universiti Malaya students get RM300 in ILMUcode credits

Universiti Malaya is the first university in Malaysia to introduce ILMUcode to its students.
As the new semester begins, 800 first-year students from UM’s Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology will each receive RM100 in credits per month for three months (total: RM300 in credits) to explore and build with ILMUcode.
Universiti Malaya Vice Chancellor Dato’ Seri Professor Ir. Dr. Noor Azuan Abu Osman said, “We are proud that Universiti Malaya is the first university in Malaysia to give our computer science students access to the next generation of frontier AI coding via ILMUcode. Through ILMUcode, we are equipping Malaysia’s next generation of technology builders and strengthening our Malaysian AI talent pipeline.”

Foong Chee Mun, CEO of YTL AI Labs, said, “ILMU brings together Malaysia’s own AI capabilities with the best technologies from around the world. We are building our own flagship models and partnering with the world’s leading AI companies from NVIDIA to Z.ai to bring their capabilities into the ILMU family, while remaining sovereign. With the launch of ILMUcode, we are equipping Malaysians with frontier AI not just to use it, but to build with AI and contribute to Malaysia’s ambition to become an AI nation.”
How to sign up for ILMUcode

To get started with ILMUcode, users need to create an ILMU Console account or sign in with an existing account.
The ILMU Console currently shows three Claw subscription tiers:
- Claw Free – Free
- Claw Starter – RM25 per month, or RM27 per month after 8% SST
- Claw Pro – RM50 per month, or RM54 per month after 8% SST
There is also a team-plan option which bundles Coding and Claw tiers under a single monthly payment.
ILMU also lists its pay-as-you-go (PAYG) pricing for individual AI models, with usage deducted from the user’s credit balance.

For ILMU GLM 5.3:
- Input – RM5.15 per 1 million tokens
- Output – RM16.05 per 1 million tokens
- Cached input – RM0.95 per 1 million tokens
For ILMU GLM 5.3 Flash:
- Input – RM0.55 per 1 million tokens
- Output – RM1.85 per 1 million tokens
- Cached input – RM0.10 per 1 million tokens
Other models available under the PAYG system include ILMU Mini v3.3, ILMU v3.1, ILMU Vision v1.3, speech recognition and text-to-speech models, as well as embedding and reranking models.
