BYD Atto 3 Performance AWD now in Malaysia: Limited to just 69 units, priced at RM149,800

BYD Sime Motors has officially launched the BYD Atto 3 Performance, marking the third variant in the 2026 Atto 3 lineup following the Ultra and Premium models introduced back in June. However, only 69 units of this flagship edition will be available in Malaysia as the limited production run was released in conjunction with Malaysia’s 69th Merdeka Day celebration.

The BYD Atto 3 Performance starts at a retail price of RM149,800, excluding registration, inspection fees, and insurance.

To mark the launch, buyers can choose between two promotional offers. The first option features a complimentary AC wallbox charger with standard installation, bundled with an overtrade value of up to RM6,000. Alternatively, customers can opt for a 6-year standard service package alongside an overtrade value of up to RM5,000.

Exterior colour options for the Performance variant mirror the 2026 Atto 3 Ultra lineup, offering a choice between Ski White, Harbour Grey, Cosmos Black, and Atlantis Grey.

The EV is backed by a 6-year / 150,000 km vehicle warranty, while its drive unit and high-voltage Blade Battery receive separate coverage under an 8-year / 160,000 km warranty.

BYD Atto 3 Performance Malaysia Quick Specs

Built on BYD’s 800V architecture, the Malaysia-spec Atto 3 Performance features an all-wheel-drive (AWD) dual-motor setup similar to the European-market Atto 3 Evo AWD. Together, the twin electric motors generate a combined 330kW (443hp) and 560Nm of maximum torque.

This output rocket-propels the crossover from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds—notably 0.1 seconds slower than the spec sheet figures quoted for the equivalent Atto 3 Evo AWD in Europe and New Zealand. Additionally, unlike overseas specification sheets, the local document omits a listed top speed of 200km/h.

Range for the Malaysian model is rated at 530 km on the NEDC cycle, which translates to roughly 470 km on the WLTP test cycle.

Other technical underpinnings remain identical to the Premium trim, including a 74.88kWh LFP Blade Battery, 220kW DC fast-charging capacity, and 11kW AC charging support. Despite adding a front motor, the Performance variant retains its 101L frunk, matching overseas models.

Inside, the Performance variant gains a few unique upgrades over lower trims, notably adding a Windscreen Head-Up Display (W-HUD) and a built-in 4.5L mini refrigerator/warmer capable of operating between -6°C and 50°C. We also noticed that this variant also has to tonneau cover in the boot area and dual-tone wheels.
