Samsung and Hoka Step Challenge Starts 26 August, Offers RM200 Vouchers

Samsung Malaysia and Hoka have teamed up to launch the “Move Together with Malaysia” step challenge in conjunction with the upcoming Merdeka season.

The initiative encourages Malaysians to stay active by accumulating steps over a 22-day period.

Officially kicking off in two days on 26 August 2026, the challenge tasks participants with hitting a cumulative total of 150,000 steps.

How to join the challenge

Participants can sign up directly through the Samsung Health app under the “Together” tab. The challenge is open to Malaysian citizens and permanent residents aged 18 and above. You can participate using any Android or iOS smartphone simply by installing Samsung Health and logging in with a Samsung Account. While steps tracked directly via your smartphone will count toward the target, users with a Galaxy Watch can also sync their wearable for automated tracking.

To join, follow these steps:

  • Download and open the Samsung Health app on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, then log into your Samsung Account.
  • Tap the Together tab at the bottom, look for the Move Together with Malaysia 2026 banner, and tap Join Now.
  • Clock 150,000 steps between 26 August and 16 September 2026. Progress is automatically tracked within the app.

Finisher rewards and eligibility details

Upon completing the 150,000-step target within the campaign period, participants must submit an answer in the app to a simple prompt asking what healthy habit they would inspire in others and why.

Finishers will qualify for an RM200 Samsung e-store voucher (capped at a maximum of 150 units for online redemption), which can be claimed through the Samsung Members app. The voucher is valid until 16 October 2026 for purchasing select wearables, including the Galaxy Watch8 series, Galaxy Watch Ultra series, Galaxy Watch9 series, and Galaxy Ring.

Additionally, 50 finishers with the most creative answers will be selected to win a Hoka runner cap worth RM199. Winners will be notified via email after 16 October 2026. Note that prizes and vouchers are non-transferable and limited to one redemption per participant account.
