You can now obtain substantial discounts on the 2026 BYD Sealion 7 and Atto 3 through the new BYD Merdeka Dreams Deal promo. In case you missed the news, the 2026 Sealion 7 was just launched a few weeks ago, while the 2026 Atto 3 made its way to Malaysia in early June.
Specifically, you can save RM14,000 when you purchase the 2026 Atto 3 via the BYD Merdeka Dreams Deal. This is how much the electric SUV costs with the new promo:
As for the 2026 Sealion 7, the savings that you can get depend on the variant. Here’s the breakdown:
It is unclear when this promo is going to last, but given the name, we believe it will likely last until the end of September. Meanwhile, those who purchase any BYD models at the moment will be in the running to win gold bars, experiences and tickets for the upcoming AllStar Legends this October, and autographed jerseys from football legends that involved in the event.
The 2026 Atto 3 Premium has been fitted with a 230kW (308hp) motor, which also produces 380Nm of torque. As a comparison, the 2026 Atto 3 Ultra has a front-mounted 150kW (201hp) motor with 310Nm of torque – similar to the previous Atto 3 Ultra.
The new motor allows the Atto 3 Premium to deliver a 0 to 100km/h timing of 5.5 seconds. BYD also said that the front suspension setup for this model is dual-ball joint MacPherson, similar to the Seal 6, while the SUV also has a 5-link multilink rear suspension.
At the same time, the Atto 3 Premium also comes with a 74.88kWh battery. The larger capacity battery allows the Atto 3 Premium to deliver an NEDC-rated range of 600km or an estimated WLTP range of 510km.
The charging capability of the Atto 3 Premium has been improved as well. The electric SUV is said to be able to support a DC charging speed of up to 220kW, together with 11kW AC charging.
The Atto 3 Premium also comes with a 101L frunk, dual-zone climate control, and additional controls for the front passenger seat. There are also additional ADAS features, including Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA), Front Cross Traffic Brake (FCTB), and Intelligent Speed Limit Control (ISLC), as well as 7 airbags, which is one more than its Ultra counterpart.
On the other hand, the 2026 Atto 3 Ultra carries plenty of features from its predecessor, including a front-wheel drive (FWD) setup alongside the 150kW motor, 60.48kWh BYD Blade LFP battery, and 7kW AC charging. However, its DC charging speed has improved from 88kW to 110kW.
Unlike the Atto 3 FL, there are no major changes to the exterior and interior of the 2026 Sealion 7, when compared to its predecessor that was launched in 2024. Instead, the big changes that the 2026 Sealion 7 carries involve its battery and charging capability.
Specifically, the 2026 Sealion 7 Premium and Performance now have a 91.39kWh BYD Blade LFP battery. As a comparison, their 2024 predecessors were equipped with an 82.5kWh battery pack.
With a larger capacity battery, naturally their range has been improved as well. The Premium variant range is now 650km NEDC (553km WLTP est.), while the Performance option is claimed to be 600km NEDC (510km WLTP est.).
In addition to that, the maximum DC charging speed on the 2026 Sealion 7 Premium and Performance has been improved from 150kW to 230kW. Not to forget, BYD has somehow improved the boot space capacity on both variants from 500L to 520L, which can be expanded further up to 1789L.
Meanwhile, BYD has also provided a new colourway option called Ultraviolet that is exclusive to the Premium variant (shown above).
The biggest change that BYD has made to the 2026 Sealion 7 family in Malaysia is the introduction of the Sealion 7 Dynamic variant. Being the new base variant in the family, it helps lower the starting price for Sealion 7 in Malaysia.
While it is still an RWD model just like the Premium option, the Sealion 7 Dynamic has a less powerful 170kW (228hp) electric motor that also generates 380Nm of torque. At the same time, the Dynamic option also carries a smaller 71.8kWh battery, which is why it also has the lowest range in the family at 520km NEDC (442km WLTP est.).
At the same time, the charging speed of the Sealion 7 Dynamic is also slower at 110kW for DC and 7kW for AC. The driver’s seat on the Dynamic variant is also missing the 4-way lumbar adjustment and power-adjustable leg rest.
