Ant International’s embedded finance unit, Bettr, has partnered with Islamic lifestyle app Muslim Pro to launch a digital Umrah financing solution in Malaysia.
Integrated directly into the app, the feature enables eligible Malaysians going for Hajj and Umrah to split the cost of their pilgrimage into monthly instalments ranging between 12 and 24 months.
How does the Umrah financing feature work?

The financing mechanism relies on a Tawarruq (Commodity Murabahah) structure to maintain full Shariah compliance.
The underlying commodity transactions are processed via AS-SIDQ, Sedania As Salam Capital’s patented digital commodity trading platform, with the overall structure endorsed by Islamic finance consultancy Masryef Advisory.
The facility is targeted at individuals and families who have the financial capacity to undertake Umrah but prefer spreading payments over time.
This structure is intended to help pilgrims manage cash flow, retain emergency savings, and protect ongoing household budgets rather than liquidating lump-sum funds.
Package coverage and repayment terms

Malaysian users can browse participating Umrah packages directly within Muslim Pro, apply digitally, and choose flexible repayment tenures from 12 to 24 months.
Early settlement options are also available in accordance with the product terms.
The financing applies to both standard and premium travel packages for individuals and families, covering core expenses such as flights, accommodation, meals, and ground transport.
Bettr employs credit risk assessment models to evaluate applicants, extending eligibility to non-traditional earners including gig workers and small business owners.
Integrating financial services into Muslim Pro

The initiative targets Malaysia’s estimated 22 million Muslim population, where the core Umrah demographic consists of individuals aged 30 to 50 supporting two- to five-person households.
Muslim Pro, which claims over 190 million downloads globally, already offers prayer tracking, full Quran audio, and NUSUK-accredited Umrah services.
The addition of Bettr’s embedded financing integrates financial planning directly into the app’s existing travel and lifestyle ecosystem.
