If you need to charge your EV while travelling between Kuala Lumpur and Penang, there’s a new EV charging spot which is just a few minutes away from the North South Expressway.

JomCharge has just turned on a 180kW DC Charger located at McDonald’s Meru Raya in Ipoh. This is a nice spot to top up your EV while you have a quick refreshment and toilet break.

As part of its opening promo, JomCharge isn’t giving just two days but one full month of 50% discount starting 7th August 2026.

For this new location at McDonald’s Meru Raya Drive-Thru, JomCharge has deployed a 180kW DC Charger with two CCS2 nozzles.

The charger is priced at RM1.40 per kWh and you can activate it via JomCharge, ChargEV and Gentari Go app.

From this Friday, 7th August until 7th September 2026, you can enjoy 50% off for EV charging at this location. You can save more if you have a JomCharge Elite or JomCharge Platinum subscription as you can stack your membership discount with this 50% off promo.

Besides McDonald’s Meru Raya DT, there’s another alternative DC Charger located just a few hundred metres away. TNB Electron has a 120kW DC Charger at Hotel Casuarina Meru which was turned on in May.

The charger is priced at RM1.50 per kWh and you can activate it by tapping your credit and debit card at the terminal.
