If you haven’t had the chance to try the new LRT3 Shah Alam Line, you’ve now got another two weeks to do so without paying a fare.
Rapid KL has announced that the free travel campaign for the Shah Alam Line has been extended until 14 August 2026, giving commuters additional time to experience the new rail service.
The Shah Alam Line began operations on 29 June 2026, with free rides originally scheduled to end on 31 July. The extension applies to all passengers using the Shah Alam Line.
Free feeder buses are also extended
According to Rapid KL, the extended free travel campaign covers both the LRT3 Shah Alam Line and its Rapid KL feeder bus services until 14 August 2026. However, the offer does not include Rapid KL On-Demand services.
As before, passengers are still required to tap in and tap out at fare gates even though no fare is charged. Commuters using a Touch ‘n Go card or a Rapid KL travel pass must ensure the card is active and has at least RM5 stored value before entering the station.
Alternatively, commuters can obtain a QR ticket from the Ticket Vending Machine (TVM).

The 37.8km Shah Alam Line currently serves 20 operational stations between Bandar Utama and Johan Setia, providing a new rail connection across Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang.
Free Park N’ Ride also extended
Rapid KL has also confirmed that the free Park N’ Ride promotion at the Shah Alam Line has been extended until 14 August 2026.
The offer is available at the following six stations:
- Bandar Utama
- Glenmarie
- Stadium Shah Alam
- UiTM Shah Alam
- Alam Megah
- Johan Setia
The Park N’ Ride facilities operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
