Tesla has recently launched the Model Y L in Malaysia, although the order books were only opened several days after the launch event at Pavilion KL. As with other Tesla models before it, you can order the new 3-row 6-seater SUV directly through Tesla Malaysia’s website.
In case you want to have some hands-on experience with the Model Y L before making any decisions, you can check it out at Tesla Malaysia’s roadshow in Pavilion KL until 12 April 2026. Alternatively, the Model Y L is also available for viewing at Tesla Experience Centres in Cyberjaya, Pavilion Damansara Heights, and Gurney Plaza Penang.
During the launch event on 1 April, Tesla said that the indicative vehicle price for the Model Y L is RM260,000. When the Model Y L configurator was opened on Tesla Malaysia’s website on 3 April, the indicative price tag became the definitive starting price for the SUV.
The Model Y L is not only 4th Model Y option for our market, but at RM260,000, it is also the most expensive Model Y variant in Malaysia.
By default, the Model Y L comes in Stealth Grey alongside a Black interior. Tesla does offer several colour options if you prefer to have your Model Y L in other colourways, provided that you are willing to fork out extra money for them.
Likewise, you can also choose to upgrade Autopliot package for your Model Y L. However, do note that Tesla has yet to unlock some of the features within these upgraded Autopilot packages in Malaysia due to regulatory restrictions.

Officially, Tesla didn’t publicly list the battery capacity and motor output for its Tesla Model Y L. That being said, several sources, including regulatory filings and the Model Y owner’s manual in China, have said that the EV carries an 82kWh NMC battery together with a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup that has a total output of 340kW (456hp) and 567Nm of torque.
The company officially said that the Model Y L has a WLTP-rated range of 681km. The 3-row 6-seater electric SUV also has a top speed of 201km/h and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5 seconds, which is just 0.2 seconds slower than the Model Y LR AWD variant.
Aside from having a 3-row seating configuration and captain seats on the 2nd row, the Model Y L also carries other additional features that are not available on other Model Y variants in Malaysia for the time being. Among them are:
In terms of charging, the Model Y L supports DC charging speed of up to 250kW, which allows it to obtain up to 288km of range in 15 minutes when plugged to a Tesla Supercharger. The electric SUV also supports an AC charging speed of up to 11kW.
