Good news for those who need to charge their EV while travelling southbound between Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur. ChargEV has upgraded their DC Charger at Tapah R&R Southbound from 47kW to 180kW.
With the power upgrade, EV owners can now charge quicker and this will improve turnaround at the location.
This comes after a similar power upgrade conducted at Gunung Semanggol R&R Northbound last month.

For this location at Tapah R&R Southbound, ChargEV has a covered DC charger with two CCS2 nozzles. With the power upgrade, the price has increased from RM1.40 per kWh to RM1.60 per kWh.
In case you didn’t know, this site was previously equipped with AC charge points and they were upgraded to DC late last year.

This EV charging location can be activated via ChargEV, JomCharge and Gentari Go apps.
Users can get up to 180kW if there’s only one vehicle plugged in. If two EVs are plugged in, the power can be split dynamically (e.g. 90kW each) when charging two vehicles.
