Looking for a value for money flagship? Xiaomi Malaysia has teased the upcoming launch of the Poco F8 series. From the teasers, they will be launching two devices – the Poco F8 Pro and the Poco F8 Ultra.

The global launch event is happening in Bali, Indonesia on 26th November 2025. Malaysia is expected to be among the first few countries to get it with pre-orders to begin shortly after the global event.

Could this be the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 smartphone yet?

Ahead of next week’s launch, Xiaomi has unveiled the designs of the Poco F8 Pro and F8 Ultra. From what we can see, these are essentially rebadged versions of the Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max that were launched in China last month.

Based on the China specs, the Redmi K90 is quite a decent flagship-class device featuring a 6.59″ 120Hz Full HD+ AMOLED display and it runs on a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The device is offered with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage in China.

In the camera department, the K90 gets a triple-camera setup featuring a 50MP main camera, 50MP telephoto shooter with 2.5x optical zoom and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. For selfies, the device is equipped with a 20MP front shooter.

The device gets stereo speakers with speakers tuned by Bose and it also comes with a massive 7100mAh battery that supports up to 100W of fast wired charging.

Meanwhile, the Poco F8 Ultra is the most powerful device in the series which is currently sold as the Redmi K90 Pro Max. In China, the device features a larger 6.9″ 120Hz Full HD+ AMOLED display and it runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip that can be configured with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage.

It also gets an impressive triple 50MP camera setup which consists of a 50MP main camera, 50MP periscope telephoto shooter with 5x optical zoom and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. For selfies, it comes with a 32MP front camera.

The star of the show is its 2.1 stereo sound system tuned by Bose. Besides the two speakers for stereo playback, there’s an extra “independent” woofer at the rear that supposedly delivers full base. As shown above, the woofer piece is located on the camera island next to the main camera array.

Powering the K90 Pro Max is a huge 7,560mAh battery and it supports 100W fast wired charging as well as 50W fast wireless charging.

Of course, some of these specs may differ on the Poco F8 series for the global market. Everything shall be revealed next week, so stay tuned.

As a reference, the previous Poco F7 series from early this year was priced from RM2,039 for the F7 Pro and from RM2,699 for the F7 Ultra. We expect the new Poco F8 series to be slightly pricier than than Xiaomi 15T series, but it is to be expected since they are running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip instead of a MediaTek Dimensity.
