Just a week after its launch, BYD Sime Motors has already delivered over 100 units of the BYD Seal 6 EV to customers across the country. The rapid rollout marks a strong start for BYD’s newest electric sedan and reaffirms Malaysia’s position as the first international market to receive the model.

According to BYD Sime Motors, deliveries covered both Peninsular and East Malaysia, with showrooms nationwide now stocked with display and test drive units. “Malaysia is proud to be the first international market to welcome the BYD Seal 6,” said Adeline Lew, Managing Director of BYD Sime Motors. “This milestone not only marks the debut of a dynamic new vehicle, but also reflects our commitment to meeting customers’ needs with professionalism and passion.”

To recap, the BYD Seal 6 slots below the larger Seal sedan in BYD’s local range and is priced at RM100,000 for the Dynamic and RM115,800 for the Premium. Both variants are rear-wheel drive, powered by a 56.6 kWh Blade LFP battery with up to 485 km NEDC range (around 410 km WLTP).

The Premium makes 215 hp and 330 Nm, good for 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, while the Dynamic outputs 127 hp and 220 Nm (10.9 seconds to 100 km/h). DC charging peaks at 100 kW (30–80% in 23 minutes), with AC charging capped at 6.67 kW.

Built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, the Seal 6 features dual ball-joint MacPherson struts and rear multi-link suspension—with dampers tuned specifically for Malaysian roads. The sedan also offers a 525 litre combined cargo capacity, 24 storage compartments, and a 5.5 m turning radius.

Inside, equipment includes a 12.8-inch DiLink infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and voice commands in English, Malay, Cantonese and Mandarin. The Premium variant adds ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, an eight-speaker audio system, and a panoramic sunroof.

Both variants come with a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter, Type 2 charging cable, and a warranty of six years/150,000 km (vehicle), eight years/160,000 km (battery and drive unit).
