DC Handal EV chargers now accept TNG eWallet QR payments

DC Handal has added support for Touch ‘n Go eWallet (TNG eWallet) QR payment on its contactless card terminals and they are the first Charge Point Operator (CPO) to do so in Malaysia. The new feature allows EV drivers to activate and pay for DC Handal EV charging with their TNG eWallet app. This makes it ideal for users without a credit and debit card.

Initially rolled out at its EV charging station at The Sphere, Bangsar South, we have been informed that TNG eWallet QR acceptance have been deployed across other DC Handal locations throughout the country.

To recap, DC Handal is the first to adopt an open payment system which allows users to activate and pay for charging by simply tapping their credit, debit and prepaid card on the provided contactless card terminal. These terminals also accepts mobile payments such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay.

To expand its open payment offering, the updated card terminals will now display the option to choose between Credit card and TNG eWallet after selecting the charging nozzle number.

Show your TNG eWallet QR code towards the bottom of the contactless card terminal. RM150 will be deducted.

As usual, the terminal will ask you to enter your phone number to receive updates and receipt details. After the terminal displays the illustration of how to scan the QR code, tap on continue, then show your TNG eWallet QR code towards the bottom of the terminal as shown above to activate the charger.

Take note that DC Handal’s card terminal will deduct a pre-authorised amount of RM150 from your TNG eWallet balance. That means you’ll need a minimum balance of RM150 in order to activate the charger with the eWallet. After EV charging is completed, the balance of the pre-authorised amount will be refunded immediately to your eWallet, based on our recent experience at Bangsar South.

In addition, you will also earn TNG eWallet GOrewards points from your EV charging transaction.

In case you missed it, DC Handal chargers are now available on the Gentari Go app. However, there’s a 6% roaming fee that’s applicable on top of the normal charging fee.
