Astro has announced that Amazon’s Prime Video is now officially available on their Astro Ultra and Astro Ulti boxes. With the direct app integration, Astro customers can stream Prime Video content natively on the set-top-box ranging from Amazon original content, blockbuster movies and TV series within the familiar Astro interface.

As part of its introductory promo, all Astro Ultra and Ulti box customers can activate two months of Prime Video access at no extra cost, valued at RM50.

To redeem the free 2 months Prime Video access (24th April to 23rd June 2025), just press on the Home button on the Astro Ultra and Ulti Box remote and then select the Prime Video app under Apps. Next, follow the instructions on the screen to create a new Prime Video account and then pair the account to your Ultra or Ulti Box by scanning the QR code.

For reference, Amazon Prime Video in Malaysia officially costs RM25/month or RM228/year.

Astro is now more than just a Pay TV operator as they are offering customers the flexibility to add on various streaming subscriptions in a single bill. They currently offer more than 13 popular streaming apps, such as Prime Video, Max, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Viu, iQIYI, WeTV, Zee5, Simply South, and more. Astro users have the freedom to add or change their video streaming subscriptions directly from the My Astro app.

To get started, the new Astro One Packs start from RM49.90/month. Customers can also enjoy greater value with Astro Fibre 500Mbps bundled with Entertainment pack from RM139.99/month.

Commenting on the integration of Amazon Prime Video, Astro Group CEO Euan Smith said “We are thrilled to collaborate with Amazon to introduce Prime Video to the Ultra and Ulti Box. This integration is a significant step in our journey to offer our customers access to a vast array of exceptional content all in one place. By offering seamless access to Prime Video’s compelling content alongside our existing content and on-demand library, we are providing our customers with even greater value and choice, all conveniently accessible through their Ultra or Ulti box. This partnership enhances our commitment to providing not only the best but also a convenient entertainment experience to our customers.”

Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video SEA & MENA Director David Simonsen said, “Our goal is to create an unmatched viewing experience, and by integrating Prime Video into the Astro ecosystem we are ensuring that our customers can enjoy easy access to their favourite shows and movies across multiple devices, underscoring our customer obsession to deliver convenience and quality to our audience. With this partnership, our viewers can look forward to an even more diverse array of content, from Prime Video Originals like Lord of The Ring: The Rings of Power, The Boys, Mirzapur, fan favourites like Marry My Husband, and Reacher and beloved local productions such as Malaysia’s Budak Flat.”
