WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), a subsidiary of Warisan TC Holdings Bhd, has officially launched the GAC Aion ES. This is currently Malaysia’s cheapest fully electric sedan and it’s priced just above RM100,000.

Unlike current sub-RM180,000 EV sedan contenders like the GWM Ora 07 and the BYD Seal, the Aion ES has quite a barebones offering. If you’ve visited Thailand, you might have spotted the Aion ES being utilised for taxi fleets.

GAC Aion ES Malaysia Pricing

The 2025 Aion ES comes in a single variant and it is officially priced at RM106,800 in Malaysia. According to WTCA, the fully imported EV sedan comes with a comprehensive warranty and after-sales package which includes 8-year/160,000km base vehicle warranty and 8-year/200,000km EV battery, drive motor and electric control warranty.

As part of its launch promo, buyers of the Aion ES in Malaysia will receive a complementary 7kW AC Home wallbox charger worth RM3,500.

The Aion ES is offered in three colours – Glamour Black, Holographic Silver and Pure White.

This model is the second GAC EV to launch in Malaysia after the Aion Y Plus. According to WTCA, they will introduce an attractive and comprehensive inventory of GAC and GAC Aion models over the next five years which include internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid and EV models.

GAC Aion ES Malaysia Specs and Key Features

The Aion ES comes with a single motor driving the front wheels that pushes 100kW (134hp) and 225Nm of torque. According to the Thai product page, the Aeon ES has a 0-100km/h time of 12.1 seconds and a top-speed of 150km/h.

The EV sedan utilises Aion’s AEP 2.0 platform which is shared with the Aion Y Plus mini-MPV. It gets Macpherson suspension for the front and Torsion Beam suspension for the rear.

Powering up this EV is a 55.2kWh LFP Magazine battery which has an NEDC-rated range of 442km on a single charge or 364km on the stricter WLTP cycle. For charging, it comes with a single-phase 6.6kW AC on-board charger and it supports DC fast charging up to 60kW.

According to the spec-sheet, it takes 11 hours for a full charge on AC charging while DC fast charging takes 30 minutes to get from 30-80%. The Aeon ES also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) to power up your home appliances with a maximum power output of 3.3kW.

On the inside, the sedan features a traditional instrument cluster with a 3.5″ LCD screen and an 8″ touch screen display which supports Apple CarPlay. The Aeon ES has keyless start, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear aircon vents, PM2.5 filter, wide angle rear view camera and cruise control system.

Also included as standard are front SRS airbags, electronic parking brake (EPB) with autohold function, hill hold control, Anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), electronic stability program (ESP) and hydraulic brake assist (HBA).

In terms of dimensions, the Aeon ES is 4,810mm long, 1,880mm wide, 1,545mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,750mm. Overall, this 5-seater sedan weighs 1,665kg and it has a boot capacity of 450 litres.

This sedan rides on 17″ 215/55 R17 wheels and like the Aion Y Plus, it also comes with a full-size spare tyre.
