To encourage more Malaysians to ditch their petrol and diesel vehicles for electric vehicles (EV), Tesla Malaysia has announced an EV Switcher Program with a RM10,000 uplift. With this limited-time promo, new Tesla Model 3 and Model Y customers can receive an additional RM10,000 off when they trade-in their private internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.

According to Tesla, the program allows car owners to easily replace their private ICE vehicles with Tesla’s fully electric vehicles. By offering substantial incentives, Tesla encourages Malaysian consumers to make the switch, significantly reducing their carbon footprint and contributing to a cleaner environment.

To get started, potential buyers can go to Tesla Malaysia’s trade-in page and enter their current vehicle’s VIN along with other vehicle details. Tesla says they offer instant online valuations for trade-in allowing customers to quickly and easily assess their vehicle’s worth. It also claims to offer a seamless trade-in process designed for simplicity, facilitating a smooth transition from ICE vehicles to EV.

Alternatively, customers can call 1800 810 655 for more details about the EV Switcher Program.

In addition to the RM10,000 trade-in uplift program, Tesla continues to offer other incentives including interest rates as low as 0% and significant price reductions for its inventory stock. For example, you can still buy a Tesla Model Y Performance with discounts of over RM30,000.

Under the current Green Incentives Program for both the Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y, customers can enjoy 0% to 0.88% interest rate and a 10% down payment for the base RWD models. For the dual-motor long-range models, they offer 0.98% to 1.18% interest rate with a 10% down payment.

If you’ve been eyeing the Tesla Model 3 Performance, they offer low interest rates between 1.18% to 1.35% with a 10% down payment.

The Tesla Model 3 is priced from RM181,000 while the Tesla Model Y is priced from RM191,000. To order your Tesla, take note that customers must place a RM1,000 non-refundable order fee. All Tesla EVs in Malaysia come with white paint for free and customers will have to pay more if they wish to change to different exterior and interior colours.

At the moment, Tesla owners can still enjoy free EV charging at Destination Chargers (AC Charge points). Meanwhile, DC fast charging at Tesla Superchargers are priced at RM1.25 per kWh.
