CIMB Bank and Gentari have launched a 50% discount deal for EV Charging which is running for a limited time only. This 50% off promo applies to the Gentari Go app and you’ll need to enter a discount code to enjoy cheaper EV charging.
This CIMB Bank and Gentari promo is only for Gentari-operated EV charging points which are indicated by the purple icon on the Gentari Go app. Eligible users will be able to enjoy 5x EV Charging sessions with 50% discount and there’s a minimum spend of RM30 required.
Gentari’s DC chargers are typically priced at RM1.50 per kWh and this means you can enjoy a lower rate of RM0.75 per kWh with the promo code.
How to activate 50% discount code for Gentari Chargers
If you haven’t already, download the Gentari Go app which is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and sign up for an account.
Once you’ve located the nearest Gentari charger and within close proximity, just select the charger and tap on the “Add Promo Code” section. From here, enter “CIMBOCT” to view the CIMB 50% off promo. Take note that the promo code is only valid for 30 days.
Once the code is applied, select the right EV charging nozzle and then tap on “Activate Charger” to start the EV charging session. The 50% off discount will be reflected in the receipt after your EV charging session is completed.
Accepted payment methods for 50% off promo
At first, it looks like this promo is only applicable to CIMB cardholders. However, the T&C states that you can pay using Mastercard and Visa debit/credit cards, Apple Pay or even FPX. On top of that, you can also enjoy the promo using Gentari Go Credits.
If you want to take advantage of this promo, you’ll have to act fast as the voucher codes are limited to the first 500 customers or 2500 transactions per month (5,000 for the period). The promo campaign runs from 15 October until 15 December 2024.
It is also stated that the promo codes will be sent via SMS or CIMB Clicks Messenger, and a voucher code will be sent out each month (a total of 2 vouchers for the period).
