XPeng’s partner in Malaysia, Bermaz has recently established the official website for the brand in Malaysia. The company then put up a timer on the website which seemed to indicate something major was about to be revealed by XPeng but unfortunately, that is not the case.

When the timer expired earlier today at 3:00 PM, a handful of new things appeared on the website. Together with a video background that highlights XPeng G6’s Smart Electric Platform Architecture 2.0, there is a link to a registration of interest (RoI) form that you can use to provide your contact details to XPeng Malaysia’s sales representative.

XPeng Malaysia Registration of Interest
(L – R) XPeng Malaysia’s official website, the RoI form, and the response that you’ll receive once you submit the form.

Aside from that, there are also two new links on the upper segment of the website labelled “Intelligent Tech” and “Discover”. Once you click on them, these links will reroute you to Xpeng Global’s website.

XPeng G6 quick specs

XPeng G6

The G6 together with the 7-seater electric MPV, X9 are the first group of products that XPeng has converted to the right-hand drive (RHD) setup. As we don’t know what XPeng and Bermaz have planned for Malaysia, it is unclear whether they will be launched simultaneously in our market.

That being said, the signs are currently pointing to the G6 as the first XPeng EV for Malaysia. In terms of general setup, the electric crossover are available in three options: rear-wheel drive (RWD) Standard Range and Long Range as well as all-wheel drive (AWD) Performance.

XPeng G6

The G6 RWD Standard Range features a 190kW (255hp) electric motor while its Long Range counterpart comes with a more powerful 210kW (282hp) motor. Despite the differences in power output, both variants still deliver the same peak torque of 440Nm.

With a top speed of 200km/h, the Standard Range option can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 6.9 seconds while the Long Range is slightly quicker with a century sprint timing of 6.7 seconds.

XPeng G6

As for the AWD Performance variant, it comes with a dual motor setup that has a total output of 350kW (469hp) and 660Nm of torque. This variant can accelerate much quicker than its RWD counterparts since it can go from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.1 seconds.

Battery-wise, the G6 RWD Standard Range is powered by a 66kWh LFP battery pack and offers a WLTP-rated range of up to 435km. As a comparison, the RWD Long Range version which is equipped with an 87.5kWh NCM battery pack can deliver up to 570km of range.

XPeng G6

XPeng also used the same 87.5kWh NCM battery pack on the higher-end G6 AWD Performance model as well. This variant’s higher power output does affect its range but is still quite impressive at 550km which is not far off from the RWD Long Range model.

Over in Europe, the RWD Standard Range can support DC charging speed of up to 215kW while the RWD Long Range and AWD Performance can even go up to 280kW. G6 in Europe is also equipped with an 11kW onboard AC charger across all variants.
