Last month, Honor launched their latest tablet in Malaysia, the Honor Pad 9. The midrange tablet offered plenty of features such as a large, high resolution display and an eight speaker setup, but only came with WiFi support. This time round, Honor is finally bringing in the Honor Pad 9 5G to complement the WiFi-only model, giving customers looking for a tablet with network connectivity a new option.
Honor Pad 9 5G Malaysia pricing and availability
The Honor Pad 9 5G will be available in just a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, priced at RM1,799. For context, the previously-launched WiFi-only Honor Pad 9 is priced at RM1,499.
As part of its launch, the Honor Pad 9 5G will also come with free gifts worth up to RM698, which include a Smart Bluetooth keyboard and an Honor Choice Pencil stylus while stocks last. You’ll be able to find it on sale from 25 April onwards on the Honor Malaysia website, the official Honor store on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok as well as their retail partners such as Senheng, Harvey Norman and Urban Republic.
Honor Pad 9 5G specs
The Honor Pad 9 5G is essentially the same as the WiFi-only variant, just that it comes with support for 5G network connectivity too. That means you’re getting a large 12.1-inch IPS LCD display pushing a 2560 x 1600p resolution with a decent 249PPI pixel density. The display is also capable of 500nits of brightness, a 120Hz refresh rate, and has an 88% screen-to-body ratio along with TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification to be easier on your eyes.
Powering the Honor Pad 9 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 system-on-chip. That’s been mated to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, running Android 13 out of the box skinned with MagicOS 7.2 over it. You’ll also find an 8,300mAh battery keeping the lights on with support for 35W wired fast charging via USB-C.
Elsewhere, the Honor Pad 9 5G has a 13MP, f/2.0 main camera located in a circular camera bump on the back, while an 8MP, f/2.2 front facing camera is also present for video conferencing. There’s an eight speaker setup here too with Hi-Res Audio certification and support for Honor Histen sound. Along with support for 5G, there’s also WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. The Honor Pad 9 5G weighs in at 568g and is available in Space Gray only.
