Apart from their flagship laptops such as the ROG Zephyrus G16 and Zenbook Duo, Asus also debuted the Vivobook 16 that’s heading to our shores later this month. The Vivobook 16 offers a lot for its price tag, with a large display and the latest Intel silicon under the hood in a sleek, portable body.

Asus Vivobook 16 Malaysia pricing and availability

The Vivobook 16 will be available in a single configuration with an Intel Core 5 120U, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, priced at RM3,099. Available in two colours—Indie Black and Cool Silver—you’ll be able to find it on shelves from the Asus Malaysia eStore as well as authorised retailers nationwide from 29 January onwards.

Asus Vivobook 16 specs

The Vivobook 16’s biggest feature is quite literal here, with a 16-inch IPS LCD display in a 16:10 aspect ratio, pushing a 1920 x 1200p resolution. Asus was keen to tout its nearly bezelless design, with the Vivobook 16 coming with an 86.5% screen-to-body ratio giving it a 16-inch display in the body of a traditional 16:9, 15.6-inch laptop. Its display is also rated for 300nits of peak brightness and covers 45% of the NTSC colour gamut. It’s not too heavy for a large laptop either, coming in at 1.88kg and measuring 1.99cm thick.

Under the hood meanwhile, the Vivobook 16 packs an Intel Core 5 120U processor that is not to be confused with their Meteor Lake 14th Gen mobile processors. The Intel Core 5 120U is instead a 14th Gen Raptor Lake-U refresh, offering two P-cores and eight E-cores with a 15W TDP. That gets mated to 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz RAM and a 512GB PCIe 3.0 SSD, along with Intel integrated graphics. You’ll also find Windows 11 Home and Microsoft Office Home & Student 2021 out of the box.

Elsewhere, a 42Whr battery keeps the lights on, while above the display is a 720p webcam with a privacy shutter. There’s stereo speakers with Asus SonicMaster tuning too, while the touchpad comees with a fingerprint reader for biometric security. As for I/O, you get a USB-A 2.0 port, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a HDMI 1.4 port and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. There’s support for WiFI 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless connectivity too.
