With the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S24 series, owners of the older S series models would like to know what the status of support for their phones is, especially with the slew of AI features introduced with OneUI 6.1. Thankfully, Samsung has announced that yes, the older phones will also get OneUI 6.1 and Galaxy AI in future updates.

Talking to Android Authority, Samsung confirmed that several of the AI features will land on the older Galaxy models. Quoting Samsung:

Many of the Galaxy AI features introduced on Galaxy S24 will also be supported on previous models including Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series within 1H 2024. Please stay tuned for more details.

With that statement, we can rest assured that Galaxy AI will not only be limited to the Galaxy S24 series. It looks like the flagship for 2023 (both smartphones and tablets) will get Galaxy AI features in upcoming OS updates, which these devices are assured for 5 years from the official launch.

Unfortunately, Samsung did not say WHICH Galaxy AI features will be shipped to the older device, and at this point, no hints of leaks have been sighted for those devices.

In the meantime, check out what Galaxy AI features are coming to the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.
