It’s been less than two months since the Smart #1 was launched in Malaysia, following a months-long teaser campaign period—and it appears that sales are exactly as they should be. Distributor Pro-Net has announced it has sold 200 of the small electric SUV since the event in late November—well on its way to its target of achieving 1,000 sales a year.
The company celebrated its first milestone last month when it delivered its first 100 units to customers. It says customer response has been positive—something it attributes to the car’s design, technology, ecosystem features and ease of use.
Smart CNY promo and contest
To keep the momentum going into the Chinese New Year, Pro-Net is extending one of its launch packages, giving prospective owners a free SmartCharge wallbox charger worth RM3,200 (inclusive of a two-year warranty) as well as charging credits from now until 31 January. Buyers will also be able to take advantage of interest rates as low as 1.15% from selected banks.
Additionally, the company is holding a social media contest called The Lóng Drive (a play on the Chinese word for “dragon”, this year’s zodiac), giving two users the opportunity to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Melaka, including a drive in the #1. Other prizes include RM200 in Touch ‘n Go eWallet value and a limited-edition Smart red packet.
To participate, users need to follow the company’s social media accounts, creatively comment their dream destination in Peninsular Malaysia on its Facebook or Instagram posts regarding the contest and tag three friends. The contest ends on 31 January.
Hello Smart app gets updated
Pro-Net also took the opportunity to announce that it has rolled out an update for its Hello Smart app. It will now let you use a debit or credit card to pay for charging and purchase more Internet data quota, the latter being priced at RM8 for 1GB, RM21 for 3GB and RM30 for 5GB.
The app continues to provide an integrated charging map that provides access to 70% of nationwide charging points—including ChargEV and JomCharge points—and you can still order and apply for a loan for a Smart vehicle through the app. You can download it from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Huawei App Gallery.
