Just before the Pangkalan Data Utama (PADU) was opened to the public earlier this week, Economy Minister Rafizi Ramly revealed that the public can obtain discounts from Mydin when they utilise the new Central Database Hub. Unlike the 3,000 Touch ‘n Go NFC card which you have to physically pick up at the launch event in Putrajaya, you can redeem the Mydin discount through your digital devices.
By different, we meant that you will only be eligible to redeem the Mydin vouchers after you complete PADU’s submission process. As a comparison, the free TNG NFC card offer only requires you to sign up for a PADU account but of course, there’s that physical collection method as well.
Once you complete the process, you will then receive a confirmation e-mail from PADU. This e-mail contains a code which you can use to redeem vouchers from Mydin via the Mydin Rewards web app.
Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to obtain and utilise the Mydin x PADU vouchers:
Fret not, you don’t have to be a member of the Mydin Meriah Loyalty Program to redeem and utilise these PADU x Mydin vouchers.
At the moment, it is unclear when exactly the PADU x Mydin offer will last. We have reached out to the company via X to obtain further clarifications.
However, a data scientist at the Department of Statistics (DOSM), Najmi Ariffin, has tweeted that the PADU x Mydin vouchers can be used until March. Not only that, there will be a variety of weekly offers from the hypermarket company.
Speaking about weekly offers, the PADU x Mydin offer for this week can be used to purchase four specific items at a discounted price. Among them includes:
You can also obtain yellow mee for just RM1.00 although the exact brand and size that you would get depends on whether the Mydin branch you visited is in Peninsular, Sabah, or Sarawak.
Specifically, those in West Malaysia can get a 450g pack of yellow mee from Jumbo. In Sarawak, the voucher is applicable for the Sinn Lee Yak (SYK) 500g yellow mee while Sabah residents can get their hands on a pack of Syarikat Mi Maju’s 1kg yellow mee at the same discounted price.
