After deploying Sabah’s first public AC charge point at T1 Bundusan, EV Connection (JomCharge) has continued its EV charging network expansion in Sabah with two new locations in Kota Kinabalu. One is located in the city centre itself and another at a BMW dealership in Taman Iramanis.
7kW AC Charge points at Centre Point Sabah Shopping Mall
JomCharge has deployed two 7kW AC charge points with Type 2 cable at Centre Point Sabah Shopping Mall. These chargers are priced at RM1 per 15 minutes (RM4 per hour) and are located at the elevated car park on Level 2 of the mall near Pillar B6.
At the moment, the chargers can be activated via the JomCharge or ChargEV app.
Before this, JomCharge in partnership with Regas Premium Sabah had deployed two 11kW AC Charge points at T1 Bundusan. These chargers are priced at RM0.10 per minute (RM6 per hour).
New 50kW DC Charger at Regas Premium Sabah
If you need a quick top-up for your EV, JomCharge has installed a 50kW DC Charger at Regas Premium Sabah at Taman Iramanis, which is near the Starbucks Drive-Thru along Jalan Lintas. The charger has three charging cables which consist of 11kW AC, 50kW DC CCS2 and 50kW DC CHAdeMO connectors.
The 11kW Type-2 AC charging is priced at RM0.10 per minute (RM6 per hour) while 50kW DC charging costs RM1.20 per minute (RM36 for 30 minutes, or RM72 per 1 hour).
If you need even faster charging, the same location also has a ChargEV DC Charger with two CCS2 connectors. The DC charger can deliver up to 60kW and it is priced at RM1.00 per minute (RM30 for 30 minutes, RM60 per hour).
At the time of writing, these are the only two DC chargers in the entire state of Sabah according to Plugshare. So far there are no other public EV chargers listed for other towns in Sabah.
