If you’re looking for a budget smartphone with massive storage, the Honor X8b might be the phone to consider. After teasing the device last week, Honor Malaysia finally revealed the official price along with a freebie offer.
Honor X8b Price in Malaysia
The Honor X8b with 8GB RAM and 512GB of storage is officially priced at RM999. On top of that, Honor Malaysia is also bundling a free Honor Choice Earbuds X5 Lite worth RM139 for free. The device is already listed on Honor Malaysia’s online store.
Although DirectD has started the pre-order earlier, the device is expected to go on sale officially starting this Friday, 22nd December 2023. The Honor X8b is offered in two colour options – Glamorous Green which features a leather texture with a “lychee-skin” design, and Titanium Silver.
Honor X8b Specs in Malaysia
The Honor X8b features a 90Hz 6.7″ Full HD+ (2412×1080) AMOLED screen with 1200 nit of high brightness and up to 2000 nit of peak brightness. It also boasts a PWN Dimming of 3240Hz for a flicker-free experience.
What’s even more interesting is the presence of a “Dynamic Island” which Honor calls the Magic Capsule. The top of the display has a centre-aligned pill-shaped punch-hole which houses the front-facing camera and an LED flash. The Magic Capsule be “expanded” to display real-time information such as notifications, voice recorder, timer and more.
Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. You can upgrade up to 16GB of “RAM” using the 8GB Honor RAM Turbo feature. It essentially converts available storage space for virtual RAM.
For taking pictures, the rear gets a triple-camera setup featuring a 108MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 2MP macro camera. The front gets a 50MP selfie camera that’s assisted by a front “spotlight”.
In terms of connectivity, the Honor X8b supports 802.11ac WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. Unfortunately, the one thing that’s missing is the lack of 5G support as this is a 4G device running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 4G platform. If you’re ok with not having 5G, the X8b is a value buy considering it offers a generous 512GB of storage which is the biggest in its class.
The X8b gets a 4,500mAh battery and it supports 35W Honor Supercharge via USB-C. Out of the box, it runs on Android 13 with MagicOS 7.2 skin on top.
