Tesla Destination Chargers at Sunway Velocity Mall are now live, free charging for Tesla only

Tesla owners can enjoy free charging at the newly switched-on Destination chargers at Sunway Velocity Mall. These Tesla Destination chargers are AC charge points which can deliver up to 11kW for the Tesla Model 3 and the Tesla Model Y.

The chargers are located at Sunway Velocity Mall’s B2 Red Zone (Pillar B20) near Cars International car wash area. There are a total of 6 charging bays which are equipped with a Tesla Wall Connector. Similar to other Tesla Destination chargers in Malaysia, these chargers are only for Tesla vehicles and they are free to use until further notice.

For Tesla owners, you just need to open the charging flap and connect the cable to your vehicle to start charging. There’s no need to use any apps or physical cards to activate Tesla’s Supercharger and Destination chargers. These chargers are currently not open to EVs from other brands.

Take note that applicable car park rates apply when you enter Sunway Velocity Mall car park. The mall charges RM3 for the first two hours on weekdays (Monday to Friday) and RM4 for the first two hours on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and public holidays. Subsequent hours are charged RM1 per hour and there’s a maximum cap of RM20 per day during the weekends.

The Tesla Destination or AC charge points are more practical for malls as visitors tend to spend several hours at the location. The Tesla Destination charger is rated to deliver up to 71km of range per hour which can provide a substantial top-up in 2-3 hours.

Other Tesla Destination chargers in Malaysia include Sunway Putra Mall, Pavilion Damansara Heights, Freeport A’Famosa Outlet Melaka, Sunway Bigbox Johor and the newly opened Tesla Service Centre at Cyberjaya.
