Malaysia’s first digital bank, GXBank is now open for business to all Malaysians after a beta testing period with selected customers and internal staff. The bank is for those looking for an alternative banking solution than conventional banks. It is offering attractive features and services that make it stand out among banks in Malaysia.

GXBank is now expanded to the rest of Malaysia

At the launch, Pei Si Lai, CEO of GXBank shared, “Since we commenced operations in September 2023, we have tested our app with thousands of beta testers, almost 50% have created “Pockets” – the app’s savings goal feature. Emergencies, holidays and investments are the top three reasons our customers are saving for. Following the months of testing amongst GXBank internal staff, shareholders, partners and selected Malaysians, we feel optimistic and encouraged to now expand to the rest of Malaysia.”

Other features of the GX Card include zero markups or fees on foreign transactions, RM1 fee waiver when used at 10,000+ MEPS ATM nationwide, and 1.5x GrabRewards points when users spend at Jaya Grocer. There is (so far) no fees for overseas cash withdrawals (via the Mastercard network).

Additionally, Customers can earn daily interest of 3% p.a. when they park their money in the main accounts or “Pockets”, the bank’s name for saving goals available in the app itself.
