Vivo has revealed its latest smartphone to reach our shores, the Vivo Y27s. Positioned as an affordable, entry level smartphone, it should still be reasonably powerful for its price point and comes in two attractive colour options too.

Vivo Y27s Malaysia pricing and availability

The Vivo Y27s will be available from 25 November onwards, and will come in a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Priced at just RM799, you’ll be able to purchase it once its available from all Vivo retail outlets as well as their official online store on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok. Early bird purchases on Lazada will also get a free pair of wired earbuds while stocks last.

Vivo Y27s specs

Available in Burgundy Black and Garden Green, the Vivo Y27s comes with a 6.64-inch, FHD+ LCD display. While using an LCD display instead of an AMOLED one does mean its peak brightness is lower at 650nits, the Vivo Y27s still comes with a 90Hz refresh rate and full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.

Powering the Vivo Y27s meanwhile is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 system-on-chip. This gets mated to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage; you can also add on expandable storage of up to 1TB. The Vivo Y27s comes with Android 13 out of the box, skinned with Funtouch OS 13 over it.

In the camera department, the Vivo Y27s has a main 50MP, f/1.8 rear camera flanked by a 2MP, f/2.4 secondary bokeh sensor. Flip it around and there’s an 8MP, f/2.0 front facing camera for your selfie needs. Other features of note include a 5,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IP54 dust and water resistance rating and support for WiFI 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 wireless connectivity.
