Charge Point Operator (CPO) DC Handal has switched on its latest DC Charger at Wisma MCA. This EV charging location is quite central in downtown Kuala Lumpur as it is situated along Jalan Ampang, near KLCC.
DC Handal has deployed three Kempower satellite charging units at Wisma MCA which come with a CCS2 port each. The DC Charger can deliver up to 150kW of DC fast charging for 800V-based EVs (Porsche Taycan, Audi RS e-tron GT, Hyundai Ioniq 5/6, Kia EV6, Lotus Electre) or up to 120kW for 400V EVs. The EV charging bay is partially covered by a roof and there’s a KK Mart store and eatery nearby.
Similar to other DC Handal locations, the DC chargers are priced at RM1.50 per kWh as standard. So far there’s no parking or valet fees required to use the EV charging bays. You can activate and pay for your charging session via contactless payments such as Visa, Mastercard, Samsung Pay, Google Pay and Apple Pay.
Just select the charger number from the payment card terminal and follow the instructions. However, take note that there’s a RM50 pre-authorisation amount for card payments. To stop charging, you can tap the charger number on the card terminal and then tap using the same payment card to end the session.
Alternatively, you can also activate these chargers via ChargEV or JomCharge and pay using your saved payment card. From these apps, you can find Wisma MCA Jalan Ampang by DC Handal, and select the number of the nozzle to start charging.
Besides Wisma MCA, DC Handal has also deployed several DC chargers at Bangsar South as well as UOA Business Park and Bamboo Hills. They have also deployed a DC Charger in Penang located at Choo Plaza. Unlike other CPOs, DC Handal exclusively offers DC charging and they do not have AC charge points.
