Three years after the second generation model was released into the market, the all-new DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is officially revealed to the world. As you can see, the word Osmo is now part of the product’s name once again as opposed to the previous generation model which was simply called the Pocket 2.
If you have been waiting to get your hands on the latest-generation compact gimbal camera from DJI, we have great news for you: the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is now available for order immediately in Malaysia. So, let’s start with its local pricing.
DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Malaysia pricing
You can get your hands on the new Osmo Pocket 3 in two different packages and here are their pricing:
- DJI Osmo Pocket 3: RM2,299

Among them is the DJI Mic 2 Transmitter together with a clip magnet and windscreen for it.
The Creator Combo also features a wide-angle lens, battery handle, and mini tripod. Capping the package off is a carrying bag, so that you can easily and safely store as well as transport the Osmo Pocket 3 alongside its accessories when you are not using them.
You are now able to order them through the DJI Official Stores on Lazada and Shopee. Alternatively, you can also visit any DJI Experience Stores throughout Malaysia.
What’s new about DJI Osmo Pocket 3?
One of the big new features the Osmo Pocket 3 has brought to the table is the brand-new 1-inch CMOS sensor. As a comparison, the Pocket 2 was equipped with a much smaller 1/1.7-inch CMOS sensor although the lens aperture on the new model is much higher at f/2.0 as opposed to its predecessor’s f/1.8.
Nevertheless, the larger sensor allows the Osmo Pocket 3 to deliver better low-light performance. In fact, the ISO range that the new compact gimbal can deliver is from as low as 50 and as high as 16000 depending on the chosen mode.
It is also capable of shooting slow-motion footage at 120fps even at a resolution as high as 4K. Yes, you still have access to 240fps at full HD resolution on the new Osmo Pocket 3.
For users that are very particular about the colour range of their footage, Osmo Pocket 3 is able to support 10-bit HLG video recording as well as 10-bit D-Log M. Do note that the maximum resolution for the still photography mode on the new model is around 9.4MP which is much lower than Pocket 2 that can be as large as 64MP.
Aside from the new sensor, another major highlight of the new Osmo Pocket 3 would be its new display. Not only that it’s larger at 2-inch but the display is also much brighter with a maximum brightness level of 700 nits.
You can rotate the screen too which would automatically shift the orientation of the camera from landscape to portrait and vice versa. In theory, this means you can switch from shooting a normal widescreen video to social media-friendly square aspect ratio content rather easily.
DJI has also improved the charging speed of the Osmo Pocket 3 with the support of fast charging. Using the optional DJI 65W PD charger, the company claimed that it takes only 16 mins to charge the new gimbal camera system to 80% although you need 32 minutes to have it fully charged.
Since the Osmo Pocket 3 also has a much larger 1300mAh battery, its operating time is also much longer than Pocket 2 at 166 minutes. When compared with its predecessor, you are looking at a difference of around 26 minutes.
